We regret to announce the line-of-duty death of Johnson County, Indiana, Deputy Sheriff Timothy Guyer.

Deputy Guyer joined the Sheriff’s Office and was sworn in on December 1st. He was currently attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield.

When Deputy Guyer failed to report for training this morning, academy staff checked on him. He was found deceased in his bed.

He is presumed to have suffered a heart attack or other medical event following physically stressful activity yesterday as part of his academy training.

Deputy Guyer was 49 years old and is survived by his wife and four children. He had been a successful businessman and recently followed his lifelong dream of working in law enforcement.

Please keep the Guyer and Johnson County law enforcement families in your thoughts and prayers.
