We regretfully announce the line-of-duty death of EMT Michael Wilcox of Starke County EMS in Knox, Indiana (located approximately 30 miles southwest of South Bend).
While responding to an emergency call, the ambulance EMT Wilcox was driving was broadsided at an intersection and overturned. Both crew members were ejected. EMT Wilcox died at the scene. His partner, Paramedic Brandy Salita, was seriously injured.
EMT Wilcox was very recently married. He is survived by his wife and two adult children.
